Time to see what's under water! 4/12/19
Today was focused on what was UNDER the water, annnnnddd, it was nothing short of AMAAAZING!!
We decided that Gwen looked like she was down there interviewing the fish, what do you think?
...and my selfie shows pretty much how I was feeling the whole time under the water!
After stopping at two different areas along the barrier reef to snorkel with tropical fish, we moved onto a third where we got to swim with nurse sharks and rays...so very very cool!
We got back on the boat, enjoyed some fresh local pineapple, then we returned home happy, sunburned and hungry!
We changed then headed out in search of pizza.... but first a local street dog....and had to stop for a few braids!
Pepperoni pizza did the trick, and magically a whole medium pizza vanished as we watched the local fisherman work on their lobster traps...and a local dog chew on a random coconut on the pier...
Next...naptime....ahhhhhhhh
After a nice long rest, we decided to hit Margarita Mikes, a classic island stop, complete with swings! Ever since she saw it, Gwen knew we'd have to go..and we did! She's gonna miss the drinking age of 18 for sure!!!
Last night Gwen heard a commotion on the deck...looked out and saw that he had caught a dove...but never fear, BirdRescueGirl is here and the dove will live to see another day!!

"So Mr. Mackeral, how do you feel about all the angelfish moving into the reef?"

This was another one of those places where you can write your name and Gwen did us proud!
Both of us being animal lovers, of course the street dogs were like magnets..we SO could have take all of this crew home! We found out later that the were not homeless...but their dad was out night fishing...however there IS a full shelter of dogs and cats.....
The shelter hours are 6 - 6...and it was about 9 when we passed by last night...one of the local guys said, "Oh, go on in...." Sooooooo, we did and all the dogs came bolting toward us barking a welcome...and making such a happy commotion...that...well, we alerted the caretaker..who...let's just say, was NOT too happy we were there that late...and was not having my apologies...but gave us both quite a lecture...sooorrrryyyyyyyyyy.....lol! We'll see if we are brave enough to stop by again in the morning...
Back at our cabana, we settled in for the night. We are kitty-sitting Frisky, the owners cat, who we are quite convinced has jaguar blood somewhere in the lineage because MAN DOES HE BITE! And, not just a nip...claws and chompers!! Both of us have gotten it! So we've taken to arming ourselves with a water bottle, #ourideaofislandpeppersprayforattackcats
